Hey guys,
You prob all know I am currently disabled. I don't want this so affect the film. And I do really want to be involved as this is my SDP and I'm pretty much screwed if I don't do it. Hopefully I will be back the week after next so please keep me posted on idea etc and maybe we can think of ideas for me to be in it without looking like a loser with a broken leg. Luckily I dont have a plaster cast anymore just a very sexy boot which can be taken off so maybe my character doesn't walk. I find out this thursday to amount of damage i have done to my foot and if i need an op so hopefully fingers crossed i'll be back in now time. But please still include me and we can use the blog and facebook as a way of communicating ideas from this week.

Hey guys, i was a bit worried about the assessment and where i was going with it as I wanted to do a few things eg. stand up, teaching comedy classes and the film. I realised that my main focus for the SDP project is comedy as that's what I think I can meet the assessment criteria better with to link all the 3 things together. For the SDP, I'd like to host an open mic night and do a final stand up comedy performance. I'd like to be part of the film but to have an acting part in it where I can create a comedy character to help me develop my skills and present this too.
Hope this is okay xx

Mix it up
Hello people, I'm sensing after the Formative Assessments that people are a bit worried about demonstrating their process.
I have a new idea. I direct the pieces, each group member create their own character, with their own stimulus material. Also find a piece of text to learn in which they can deliver.
The idea is that it seems like a disability advert, still keeping the idea of starting out a bit funny and progressing.
As a actor you will also be able to talk about your process of choosing the piece of text, the reasons why, your character development for film. We can work one on one with the pieces, giving us more freedom to do other things rather than having to meet as a group every time.
Bear in mind we can continue or do a bigger project together in Collaborative later in the year.
Let me know what you think guys, I just think this way we are meeting the assessment criteria a bit better!

Half term! x
Hi guys,
So my talk with Vanessa went well, if i read it right. I am still having the film as my main SDP project, i think we can all do well with it if we try hard. I have just got some books out about directing and documentaries which I will be reading over half term. One also has a DVD. So things to be done over half term are ( if you have time)
- Look in to your character- how you will portray, what 'problem' they have and how they face it in today's society.
- read some books on relevant things e.g - documentary and filming!
- watch some fairy tales .... this is fun but relevant!
- Get a grasp on the ugly duckling, language and how it makes you feel as a person!
Hope this is all good! xxxx

My SDP
Hey guys,
I would still like to be a part of this on the acting side of things but after having a one-to-one with Lisa today and really thinking about it, I'm not going to use this project to be assessed on for my SDP.
I hope you don't think that I'm letting you down but I have realised that film-making is something that I'm just not as passionate about as acting in terms of character development, accent and voice work.
I was going to talk to you all in person today but I kind of missed my opportunity and this is the next best thing and I didn't want to leave it until after half term as that would be unfair to you all.
I hope this is ok with everyone and I haven't made it difficult to still do.

Ugly Duckling stimuli
So we have decided to go with the idea of 'The ugly duckling' story. I think we should concentrate on looking at the peice from a contemporary sense.
What does it mean to be "Ugly?"
- Not looking at surface rather delving into substance of a person?
- Illness' that can cause isolation, neglect or a feeling of being outcasted.?
- The concept of Ugly, who is ugly and for what reason arte they percieved as such?
I would like to look at the preconceptions of voice and film.
-Conventions of film, what message does it send by filming from the point of view of a security camera, or by hand held Cloverfield/ Blair Witch perspective?
-Vocal preconceptions, what do people think of when they hear a deep voice rather than a feminine voice? Do people associate the two with different qualities in a film or televised transmission?
A few things I have been thinking about, let me know guys, post your own thought please :)
